Marketing Intern

Around the Web

Zach is a senior at North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management and has more connections to the university than most students. At a place where his father is an alumnus, his sister is a fellow student, and his mother is an employee, he has found his niche and his calling in the marketing program.

Zach became interested in business long before he started at NCSU, though. He took classes early in high school and then joined a national marketing club during his sophomore year. As it became a major (and soon a career) his passion grew.

“My favorite thing about being a marketing student at NCSU is being surrounded by world class instructors, professors, and companies because I value real-world experience incredibly much,” he says.

As Bluespark’s first intern, Zach is not only getting some of his much valued “real-world experience”, he’s helping design a pathway for Bluespark educational opportunities, like internships. He lends his research skills to uncover issues like web accessibility needs in higher education and shares his marketing experience on social media management. The collaboration and communication is apparent all around.

“The most important part about being a team is ensuring that everybody is different in some way," he says. "What do I mean by that? I mean I love the feeling when people who are complete opposites come together and do something. I think it is the most interesting thing in the world, and I love experiencing it myself and watching it happen to others.”

When not studying and working with the Bluespark team, Zach enjoys creating music, attempting to play golf, and spending time with his dog.

“I love dogs, sometimes more than people. End of story,” he says. “I have never met a dog that I did not like.”
