Drupal Engineer

Sébastien Corbin has been a web developer for four years, but when he discovered Drupal in 2009, it was love at first sight. Sébastien was a student at the time and was helping perform localization services on a website that had originally been built in Drupal.

Like being on a date with a beautiful girl who you later learn comes from a great family, Sébastien was first attracted to Drupal as a tool and was further wooed by the Drupal community. He says, “There were so many other people in the community that were excited about Drupal, about Drupal development, and about helping each other along. Those people helped me so much in the beginning.”

Once he became a freelance Drupal developer himself, he was passionate about giving back to the same community that had been so good to him. He hosted several monthly Drupal meet-ups with developers in his hometown of Nantes, France. He became a regular contributor to French-speaking Drupal forums. And he organized France’s national Drupal Camp in January of 2011.

Currently living in Dublin, Ireland where he’s earning a Master in Computing Science from Griffith College, Sébastien says he really misses French food but that, otherwise, Ireland is lovely and that the Irish people have been extremely kind-hearted.

As a Frenchman living in Ireland, Bluespark’s international makeup was attractive to Sébastien from the beginning, both as a business model as well as a multi-cultural experience. “I look forward to each meeting, face-to-face, with the people I’ve come to know through IRC and Skype.”

In his free time, Sébastien likes playing pool, watching TV shows, running, and rollerblading.
