An appreciation of the arts has always had a profound influence on Phil's life. While studying design at college in the mid-90s, Phil was introduced to Photoshop, which sparked his interest in digital media. This interest soon florished, as while participating in his BA in music at Newcastle University, he spent his spare time learning all he could about image manipulation, 3D modeling, animation, and later, front-end development. Once complete in his studies, he soon decided to persue a career in freelance web design and new media development.

Phil joined the Bluespark team in early 2012, and works remotely from his home in the North East of England. When away from his desk, he enjoys climbing, hiking in the Scottish mountains and playing guitar.
